The Global Summit on Smart, Secure and Sustainable Cities is a summit where decision makers, industry and other stakeholders from around the world will gather to discuss these issues. The focus for this year’s summit will be on the “Opportunities and Challenges in India” in the context of smart cities, energy, water and waste management. The Summit is brought to you by India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF), a PPP initiative of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, along with India News, the country’s leading Hindi News channel, and Knowledge Partner, Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI), the oldest private power association of India.
India News in collaboration with India Smart Grid Forum (ISGF) kickstarted the Smart India summit in Harte and Garter, Windson, Royal Berkshire, UK in the propitious presence of Navtej Sarna, the Indian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
During the event, while deliberating upon the need to instigate smart city planning, Mr Sarna spoke about the hindrances for a smart, secure and sustainable city.
"It’s a good idea to do this conference and if you take a look at the program, it has all the aspects of what we are going to call smart cities, has been taken care off, whether its water, environment, technology or health aspects," said Sarna.
